Vézelay, which is one of the highest places of Christendom and western art has been, during the middle ages, a significant pilgrimage and stopping place on the way to Santiago de Compostela. The Sainte Madeleine Basilica (12th – 13th centuries) , unanimously considered as a Romanesque art masterpiece for the beauty of its architecture and the remarkable quality of its sculpted decorations, is a UNESCO worldwide heritage listed monument.

You will also enjoy a visit of the Gothic Saint Martin church ( 12th century). Dijon, Capital of Burgundy, is the starting point of the long vine-covered corridor which is a rosary of great wine estates. Gevrey-Chambertin, Clos-Vougeot, Nuits-Saint-Georges, Beaune, Pommard, Meursault, etc…
A unique event : in November, on the 3rd Sunday, stands “La Vente des Vins des Hospices de Beaune” wine auction, the greatest charity sale of the world.
